The house is very beautiful with large spaces and very well equipped (except in case of a heat wave, 2 fans are not enough). It is very well located 30 minutes from the rivers Dordogne or Lot (and 20 minutes from Ceou) for swimming and canoeing in the summer! The only disappointment/regret: the "shared pool" which is actually a public pool on the other side of the road managed by the convenience store/tobacco/bread etc., with restricted access hours (10:00-12:00 and 14:00-19:00). This was not specified in the ad (and the price did not reflect this…). Beyond this element, we had a very good stay, and communication with the owner and the manager was smooth.

We stayed a week at this house in August. It suited us very well with a cool room and bathroom downstairs for my mother and a twin room upstairs with en-suite shower for my daughter. The bar/shop/restaurant and swimming pool opposite were very useful. Book the restaurant in advance as they got busy when we were there, but the pool was often hardly used (maybe because it’s set back from the road a bit), which was great. There is a lovely lake for dog swims and walks about 5 minutes drive away at Dégognac, a little market on Tuesdays at Catus. On Wednesday we went to a big market at Cahors and also visited the beautiful 900 year old cathedral with 2 domes and cloister. Everywhere there are stunning views of the Lot river, valleys and vineyards - all very unspoiled. Lots of sick and goose dishes - not our thing, but if it’s yours you’ll enjoy them !

Very beautiful atypical stone house

Very beautiful atypical stone house with exposed beams steeped in family history. We were looking for a peaceful place to enjoy a family holiday, and this house is ideal. The terrace and garden were our main living spaces, greatly appreciated. The proximity to the grocery store and the pool (50 meters) is very pleasant in hot weather. No disturbance related to the pool, which is of reasonable, yet human size. We recommend it for all families seeking tranquility, charm, and a desire to discover Lot or Dordogne.
